MOLLY MURRAH - Watercolor Artist

I have always loved art. I started drawing and
painting at a young age and continued taking
art classes throughout high school. However,
in college I majored in math for three years,
before finally switching to a fine arts major. That
last year in college was definitely my happiest —
every course I took was an art course!

After graduation, I moved to NYC and began working as an assistant at two well known graphic design companies. Eventually a small startup hired me and from working there over the years, I learned the principles of good design. I have been a professional designer ever since moving to Washington state in 1982, and it is the primary reason I understand the importance of composition in a painting. If your composition is good, you will end up with a fine work of art, independent of the degree of perfection in your technique.

My graphic design office and painting studio are connected and I move back and forth between the two on a daily basis. I am working to build my fine art business while continuing to provide design and marketing services for my clients... it is a good balance and one I hope to continue for many years.

COMMISSIONS
I am available to paint commissions, if they are desired. Commission pricing depends on a number of factors: painting size, quality of reference photos provided or whether I take the photo to work from, complexity of the subject, whether a frame is requested. Please email me using the form on the Contact page if you have a commission request.

FINE ART PRINTS
Limited edition fine art prints that are matched to the original art and printed on archival art paper using archival inks are available for most of the paintings in my collection. They will last 75-100 years, even longer if kept out of direct sunlight and put under glass. Each print is signed and the print number is indicated. Write me using the form on the Contact page if you are interested in purchasing a fine art print.

Artists today
think of
everything
they do as a
work of art. It
is important to
forget about
what you are
doing... then a
work of art may
happen.
